The Wavesport Ethos is a stable, forgiving and performance-minded crossover kayak suitable for beginners up to fairly advanced paddlers. It combines features from white water, touring and surf designs and is a great choice for anyone wanting a hyper-versatile kayak that can be used for general touring around rocky coastlines, paddling lakes canals and rivers, taking a blast down some white water or nailing some waves when surfing beach breaks.

Unlike other crossover kayaks, the Ethos has a flatter hull base which will perform better in the surf compared with more traditional D shape hull profiles. The hull is also very agile in rapids or lively seas and tracks well on flat water with the help of a drop down skeg system.

The Ethos comes in two sizes: the lower volume Ethos 9 which is great for small to medium sized paddlers, and the larger volume Ethos 10 which is more suited to the larger paddler. Both builds are stable enough to be fine as a first kayak for anyone just starting out with kayaking and will take you a long way on that journey without needing to upgrade. With a roomy cockpit, comfort oriented outfitting and sizeable gear-storage space the Ethos offers outstanding comfort whether it be a long day trip or even multi-day paddles.

When used in whitewater you will find the Ethos has a very predictable response to any control input, you will enjoy the smooth and efficient ride and find yourself punching through big stoppers and waves with ease. Like all crossover kayaks the Ethos doesn't offer the full on performance of a specialist pure whitewater kayak but it does handle itself very well and is designed for use in up to class III whitewater. It is very forgiving for beginners and provides plenty of adrenaline and smiles for the more experienced.
