Based on a traditional Canadian canoe shape, the Nova Craft Prospector 16 is a great all-round boat capable of handling different environments and a great canoe to head off on an adventure with friends and family. From the proverbial home of canoeing in East Canada, Nova Craft have been making canoes since 1970. This culminates into a remarkable boat to paddle with an incredibly hard wearing construction for a boat that should last a lifetime.

While the Prospector 16 excels at being out in the wilderness fully loaded with camping equipment, this boat is equally as brilliant to paddle in calmer closer to home waters and makes for a great boat for exploring the canal network, nature spotting on lakes, gentle flowing rivers and lochs. This "packhorse" canoe will really go anywhere with you.

A soft rounded hull shape offers great stability and quick manoeuvrability, with increased experience in the canoe, you can really appreciate the hulls' self-righting aspect becoming more apparent and confidence will soar. The amble rocker and high sides provide a drier ride in big waves and whitewater. The symmetrical design allows it to be an incredibly easy canoe to paddle in both solo and tandem paddling.

Constructed of Nova Crafts SP3 Plastic, this roto-moulded polyethylene canoe is super hardwearing and popular for general purpose paddling. With two solid layers of plastic covering a foam core middle, almost honeycomb like, the central layer gives buoyancy and rigidity making it an extremely hard canoe to sink. While being as hard wearing as possible, and requiring minimal maintenance. Outfitted with two wood-webbed seats, deep yoke, thwart (for extra rigidity) and carry handles at either end the Prospector is comfortable to carry between two but absolutely manageable for short portages on your shoulders, it is not however a lightweight canoe.

Nova Craft describe the Prospector 16 as "simply the best all round wilderness tripping canoe available", in truth we wholeheartedly agree.
